Wisconsin Infantry Civil War letters, 1861-1864.

Letters published in the Taylors Falls Reporter (Taylors Falls, Minnesota) sent by Civil War soldiers of the 1st, 5th, 8th, and 37th Wisconsin Infantries. The bulk of the letters are from George W. Gore (1st infantry regiment, Co. F) but there are also letters from Elkannah W. Gurley (5th infantry regiment), Chaplain William McKinley (8th infantry regiment), and Lt. Pembroke V. Wise (37th infantry regiment). The letters describe various battles and accounts of army life from Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, and St. Croix, Wisconsin.
